Fitter based M113 are used to support mechanised units and can be distinguished as belonging to a certain type of unit by the spare parts they carry. This is made easy and rapid because most of the equipments and spare parts are mounted outside the vehicle on the sides. The space of inside is reserved for a spare powerpack which can be unloaded by the crane through the large roof loading door.
The vehicle has an HIAB hydraulic crane, with a Canadian Gearmatic winch, and is mounted on the left side of the vehicle roof. It can lift a maximum load of 3,000 kg. |
