POMINS
Portable Mine Neutralization System

Developed and proven by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), POMINS is an improved, portable mine-neutralization system carried by two men. Designed for infantry use, POMINS can be set up and used in less than one minute to clear a path 50 meters long and 50 centimeters wide through
anti-personnel minefields and/or barbed wire entanglements. POMINS can be operated in the dark and in the presence of combat smoke without the need for artificial light; and it leaves the carriers' hands free to fight while transporting the system. The line charge clearly defines a starting point.

The POMINS 2 is a second generation Portable mine neutralization system developed and proved by
the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and produced by Israel Military Industries ltd. (I.M.I).
Easily carried by two infantrymen, it can be set up and activated in less than one minute, greatly enhancing operator survivability.
The POMINS 2 will clear a 50-meter long and 50-centimeter wide safe path through antipersonnel minefields, barbed wire or a combination of both.

Descriptiom

The POMINS 2 system consists of two subsystems, each carried by an infantry soldier using a special backpack harness, which is an integral part of the system.
The harness also serves as a launch prop when the system is set up.
The two subsystems are the launcher, which contains the propelling rocket motor and the front part of the line charge and the container, which contains the rear part of the line charge.

Functioning

The two subsystems are set approximately one meter ahead of the starting point of the path to be
cleared.
The covers are removed from both subsystems, and the line charges Are coupled by means of a quick
connector.
